For environments where powders hazardous for human health may be present

In relation to the safety and the degree of potential danger of dust in the working environment, the standard EN 60335-2-69 and IEC 60335-2-69 Annex AA, divide into categories the dusts that can be dangerous.

This standard also applies to the machines handling hazardous substances e.g. asbestos, or liquids for which additional national requirement apply.

Furthermore, the max. concentration of material in the air mg/m3 in the work environment for which one can be subjected without having negative consequences on ones health, with respect to a given collected dust type, is indicated by the MAK code.

M: medium hazard. Vacuums suitable for separating dusts with a MAK, limit value of occupational exposure grater than or equal to 0,1mg/m3.
